A song about how dependency and control work together beautifully in a slavery-making symbiosis.

It seems clear that if TPTNSB have their way, we're all going to be very much dependent on the state for the basics of life, which will only be provided if, and to the degree to which, we have been compliant with its demands.

Of course, most people don't really mind being dependent in itself, but they probably haven't really thought through what it could mean to be totally controlled beholden and blackmailed.

"Anyway, those nice people in government would only ever look after me! They would never arrange anything that wasn't good for me and for my safety!"

... said the person who's never read a history book, or believes that human nature has fundamentally and suddenly changed and that psychopaths, sociopaths, narcissists, and general power hungry elitist scumbags no longer exist in the world.

So people like that willingly say goodbye all freedom and rights, including the right to control what goes into their body, for starters.

criminalising human autonomy

We say we know that politicians only speak in lies.
But almost everyone likes to be subsidised
And most are happy for their lives to be more supervised –
and for power to be ever more centralised

Our dependency is so ingrained
we think we love the institutions – that keep us chained

A con artist always connives

To always take over more and more of our lives
So we can stand and watch while our freedom nosedives

Humans up for sale going cheap – mind body and soul
Many of us love to have others, in control
We see the bait and we swallow it whole

Amazing how many people simple bribery buys

The bigger the lie the more people will buy
Like say a molecule of life will cause the planet to die
Or a fairly mild illness will make us all drop like flies
People are not very astute or very streetwise

Previous puppets’ mistakes these guys can’t undo
But please know that it’s oh so true
Everything they did, they only did it for you.
Lying to the last breath as their faces turns blue

We keep on buying every crisis they invent
Seeing them as being of good intent
And while dream the dream we’ve always dreamt
We’re being ruthlessly groomed by government

Public spending just so extravagant
Big strings are attached to any claimed present
So much bullying and micro-management and
When we disagree the state’s gonna get violent

While you adjust to life as powerless prole
Trying desperately to stay on the state payroll
remember it can only dish out things it plans to steal
or what it already stole

We think that more government will make it all good
And we’ll all just receive everything we should
But they’re not they don’t serve the poor they’re not Robin Hood
They’ll take your property and life like only they could

They’re being open more – hardly bother with stealth
communism isn’t good for your freedom or wealth
Carbon taxes are just taxes on life itself –
so not conducive to your good health
